Every company today has its own website. That is understandable, since it brings in money. But in many cases, individuals want it too. Certainly, there are reasons to do so. But few understand what it really takes, especially to make it successful.
First and foremost, you need to have money ready. After all, you have to pay to run the server that hosts your website. Of course, you can use so-called free services, but in that case you must take into account the fact that the site will display ads and you will not see a penny from it. In other words, it is a question of paying a certain amount each month or being able to afford to pay it.
Next we need to focus on what our website does. Not all topics are downloaded in the same way, and trends change over time. The most popular ones are often already discussed in detail elsewhere. So you either have to have something new and original to address it, or come up with a new and original way to address it that you are not sure will work.
Websites also need to be dynamic, meaning that new things need to be added regularly. However, it also needs to prioritize quality over quantity and consider whether it really has something to say. This is especially true when there is nothing more to say on a subject. Thus, the content of the next few articles must be thought out in advance.
Finally, the structure of the website should be simple and accessible to the layman. This is especially true if we are real experts in the field, since things that most people do not know seem obvious to us. Therefore, it does not hurt to have a layperson read the book before publication.
It is clear that a lot of work goes behind a good website. The question is whether it gives us satisfaction as well as financial.
